  1. LOL. I watched the “bastion of culture” and loved that quote too. First, I refused to watch, and then I gave in, but now I might swear it off again. The plot line where she sleeps with the dude for a record deal is just so 1980. It made me lose interest in that character…. Um, anyway, great quote. I need my morning coffee now.. Cheers.

    • I’m afraid this has become one of my soap operas. Guilty pleasure. For me the maid sleeping with the producer wasn’t what got my attention, but the heartbroken guy who loves her and took her there. That situation makes me examine myself, like I do music. It should be enough to make and enjoy doing music — the success and fame aspect, and doing anything to get it is an abomination. Do what you love and love what you do. If that isn’t enough then you are on the wrong track. Having to make a living to survive is a lesser form of prostitution that almost everyone is stuck in. The desire for riches and fame for its own sake is a sickness.

      • Ugh. The look on her friend’s face when he realized she was going through with it was disturbing and heartbreaking. I was actually screaming at the TV (don’t tell anyone). “Do what you love and love what you do” … that is sage advice 🙂 Cheers.
